The Light
Here is the English version of the song I posted yesterday, so all my non-Spanish speaking readers can understand the song.
"We Are" by Kari Jobe:
Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. ~1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)

"We Are" by Kari Jobe:
I love technology. I love that it connects me with people who don't live nearby. When I was in BC I loved that I could see pictures of my extended family and feel like the distance between us was minimal.
Yet, as much as I love technology and the ease of communication it has brought, lately I've been finding myself feeling silent...or maybe it's just ignored. Whatever the case, lately the majority of people I've tried to stay in contact with are ignoring my attempts. It makes me feel silent. Like what I am saying isn't getting across or is unimportant. I feel like I'm throwing my heart out into a giant void of nothing and it's being engulfed. It seems as though every effort I put out is useless. Yet I keep on trying...and trying...and trying. Maybe it's me. Maybe it's them. Maybe I'll never know...
I'm not quite sure when to give up...if I even should. I don't want to. I care too deeply to give up on anyone, especially those whom God has placed on my heart. So I try, and try again, hoping that someday someone will at least care enough to respond. That would sure make my heart happy! But unfortuately that isn't the case right now...so I'll keep trying and reaching out, while praying that even as they ignore me they will feel God's arms of love around them.

Wow! Blogger has completely changed it's website! This may take a while to get used to!
On the weekend a lady by the name of Joan Hunter came to do some healing services and teaching. It was a great weekend! There were 8 services! Thousands of healings took place and on Saturday Joan Hunter did some training sessions to teach us some of the things God has showed her. I have always known God heals, but as I saw the thousands of healings occur I realized that God can and will use me, and every other Christian who steps out in faith. As I go out and pray for people to be healed Jesus will reach out and heal them! It's exciting!
Arms and legs grew. Backs, necks, and knees were healed. Shoulders were restored. Arthritis and Osteoporosis were healed. Walkers, slings, and crutches were left behind! Lives were changed forever! All thanks to Jesus!! It was amazing!
Other than being busy with all those services, I have been busy doing odds and ends around the house and enjoying my few weeks off before I start a new job. I kind of wish I had been smart and caught a ride to BC with my grandparents. It would have been nice to go to the mountains, especially because I do not know when I will be able to go back. With a full time job with limited vacation time it will be impossible to go away this summer...and I just may end up using my vacation time to go to Israel in February!! (If I have enough by then!) So it may be over a year before I can go back to my 'hometown'... :( BUT, I am thrilled to think that I may actually get to go to Israel!!! It would be a dream come true! I have always wanted to go there!!
Oh, and I printed out most of my pictures from 2010, so I'll hopefully be getting some scrapbooking done in the next couple weeks! Going through all the pictures from my last days in BC brought back so many memories! I can't wait to scrapbook them!
Well...
IT'S LOOKING MORE AND MORE LIKE A TRIP OUT EAST IS ACTUALLY GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!
My friend and I were figuring out dates and such tonight...we just need the okay from her program director and I'll be headed out east!! I actually can't believe it's all coming together like it is! And so fast too!
Now, only if my school work came together the way this trip is! Haha! I have sent in one of my two assignments for the week... I had hoped to have them both sent in already but unfortuanately I really strained an old hand injury when I was painting on Monday and so writing for long periods of time is extremely painful and my hand starts to shake from the pain! :( I'm getting there though, and by the end of the week (I mean by Sunday...) I am determined to have everything done that I've told myself I must do!
And for an update on my Great Uncle... He is doing so much better! Praise the Lord! It truly is a miracle! From my understanding he is completely off the bypass machine now and they have closed him up! He was also taken off of two meds last night! From being in a place where his heart wasn't functioning to a place where it now is is amazing! I am so thankful he is doing as well as he is! He's still in critical condition, and has a long way to go, but the doctors all have confidence he will come out fine!

Distance schooling is HARD work! When I signed up for it I didn't expect it to be nearly as time consuming as it is! I homeschooled for a few years, so I figured distance university would be similar, but no it is not! The more time I spend doing my school work, the more I find myself missing the classroom setting where the professors do all the material condensing and tell the students what they need to know and what they don't! I guess the whole process of reading, trying to understand, filling out worksheets, answering questions, and so on is good for me though!
With all that said, I admit I am really behind in my courses. Well, I guess not "really", though it feels like it. Technically I have until the end of April to finish, which means as of yesterday I should be half finished my courses. I am close to being half finished math, as well as my health class. I'm pretty behind in my basic biology course, and my anatomy course is far from my mind right now. I have until the end of October to finish that one, so I'm not working on it until after April... I am so glad I decided not to do my second semester of school right now!
So, seeing that I'm so behind in school I decided a little motivation might just be what I need to put the pressure on me to get it done!
Fast forward about 1-2 weeks... I was thinking to myself that I need to go on vacation. That is an odd thing for me, especially since I JUST was away a month ago! Nevertheless, I was talking to my mom and I told her that I thought I needed to go somewhere green (it is beyond white here! I'm more than ready for spring to arrive!) Then mid last week my friend who's in Ontario out of the blue told me I should come visit her... That was very unexpected...I don't think she has EVER said I should visit her there...Usually if we are going to get together it's when she's in Calgary. Then, no joke, on Sunday I was talking to my best friend and she said I should go visit her in New York! Crazy!
Coincidence, or not (I personally think not...) these three moments really got me thinking. Really, there is no better time for me to go than now. If I wait, it may turn out that I would never get the opportunity to go out east. I have never been as available to just pick up and go somewhere as I currently am, and if I get into nursing in the fall, it will be years before I will be able to again...and even then I'll have a "real" job to try to work my schedule around. All that being said, I made a bargain in my head...IF I can get done my two Math TMA's (teacher marked assignments), schedule my midterm, write my health paper, and possibly schedule that midterm ALL before the end of the week I will reward myself with an early birthday gift and go out east to visit my friends...
So, with that as my motivation I BETTER get it all done this week! Because I'll be sad if I don't, but even then (and really, I shouldn't even let myself think this way...) I'm sure I'll break down and go anyway.
But, I'm not really going to think like that because I need to get my school done... So basically I'm going to be doing nothing but school for the rest of the week... I figure if I work non-stop from sun up until sun down tomorrow I should be good to go for the math...I hope!!
I'm going to make this trip work...if it's the last thing I do! I just can't help but think that there may be a God appointed reason for why this is all coming together the way it is... Karissa has been on my heart and mind pretty much non-stop lately. I just can't shake the feeling that God has so much more for her and that soon she'll 'wake' up to it. So to see her after it's been over a year would be amazing! And to see Kim at LIFT...that would be awesome! The weird thing is that almost every single aspect of LIFT that I've heard about, or seen on their website (except all the outdoor activities) is EXACTLY what my dad had wanted to do with ID... Everything about it. It's honestly like ID in the USA...only it was given a chance to grow, and is now thriving. It was encouraged instead of smothered. So coming from that angle, to be able to see first hand just what the setting is like there and to maybe somewhat see how it's run would be pretty neat. I have a feeling I'd feel at home there! And seeing Kim is seeing my best friend...need I say more?! That would be a blast!!!!!!
So MOTIVATION!!! Time for bed so I can have an early start to my math day! Math and tea...that'll be my day!

I've been trying to get some 'pre-spring cleaning' done for a few days now! I'm not as far as I hoped to be...everytime I attempt to do a 'small' clean it turns into an 'everything' clean!
Today I went through my paper bin under my bed to find any papers I no longer need. I ended up finding some really old scrapbook pages I made when I was 12! Seeing them brought back a lot of memories of the time my family went to Fairmont BC with my good friend and her family shortly after we moved away from Calgary! I also found a page where that same friend, Karissa, had come over for a sleepover on my 12th birthday. The scrapbooking element of the pages is terrible, but the memories they bring are incredible!
Seeing those pages made me think (even more so than I had been already) about the phrase "keeping in touch." With my friend Kim in NY, and Karissa so heavily on my mind this past month and a bit, and every other person I've ever known floating around my mind lately I've found it hard not to think about it.
Keeping in touch with someone is much easier said than done. I find when it comes to keeping in touch there's a fine line that must be walked upon. I never know how much "keeping in touch" is good. I'm always scared of keeping in touch too much that the other person can't go on with their life, but then I pull away and then I think I shouldn't keep in touch very often...though those close to me are never far from my thoughts or prayers. Then, time buts in and before I know it years have gone by and distance has been formed between me and those close to me... I find keeping in touch very...what's the word...not frustrating in a bad sense, but in the sense of not knowing how to properly keep in touch.
Keeping in touch is hard. Maybe I need to try harder, or try less. I haven't quite decided yet. All I know is I'm tired of the distance that forms when physical distance happens in a relationship. I know God knows what will be of all my friendships.
A while ago I got an email that talked about how people are in your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Ultimately only God knows what He has planned for each relationship. One conclusion I have come to though is that no matter if it is a season (short or long), a reason, or for life, each person has a special place in anothers life. For example, my friendship with Karissa...no matter the outcome of what's going on right now, I was in her life. Nobody can ever take that away, or deny it. There was something she needed that only I could give, and vice versa. Same with Kim...no matter what the future holds for our friendship...whether she lives far away, or moves back to SK at the end of her time in NY...there is something(s) only she can bring to my life, and again vice versa. The same goes with everyone I know and everyone you know. Nobody can ever deny that someone who was in your life had a role to play in shaping you into who you are. No matter if that person was there for a reason, a season, or for life!

I am at a complete loss for words right now.
I guess all I can really say is will you PLEASE pray for a family friend's son?
On Christmas Eve my family recieved word that our friends' 10 year old son Mitch was diagnosed with severe cancer in his bones that send him immediately to the provincial Children's Hospital. I knew it was bad, but I didn't know details until today...
Mitch has been diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma. It is a rare childhood cancer with a low survival rate that claimed the life of little Layla Grace Marsh about 10 months ago. I say this not to place doubt for survival, but so that we know what we are dealing with.
I haven't shared this before, but the night Layla went to heaven I really believe God gave me a vision of what was going on in the heavens in the moments before He called her home. I have really struggled with why He gave me that vision...I didn't even know Layla or her family. Looking back on it now, I still don't fully understand why God gave me that glimpse into heaven, but I know that God is in total control. Before Mitch was formed God knew him. God knows how many hairs are on his head, and all the days of his life have been ordained. Only God knows exactly what the future has in store. We need to be on our knees before the King of all kings interceding for Mitch, his parents, and his two sisters. We need to believe that God is big enough and mighty enough to bring total healing and restoration to Mitch's body.
Will you PLEASE join me in lifting up Mitch and his entire family before the Lord?

Here's an update about Isaiah May.
On Friday, the court ruled that Isaiah is to continue on life support until March 11, when the judge will reassess the situation. From my understanding, there was a doctor from Victoria who evaluated Isaiah on Friday, and there is another doctor from the US who is interested in assessing him as well.
So, while Isaiah isn't out of the woods, so to speak, this ruling gives him more time to heal and prove the doctors wrong!
Please continue to keep this amazing little boy in your prayers.

A few weeks ago, I heard of a little boy named Isaiah James May.
Unfortunately when Isaiah was born his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck, cutting off his oxygen supply. The doctors declared he had irreversible brain damage.
Over three months have passed since Isaiah's birth. Isaiah's story has become well known, as he has been on the news because doctors have tried to take Isaiah off of oxygen which is currently allowing his body to rest and heal.
I've been following the "Prayers for Baby Isaiah James" facebook page, and have seen many updates by Isaiah's mom, and Grandpa. Isaiah is proving the doctors wrong. He is starting to breathe over the ventilator, he has been opening his eyes (and they are starting to dialate), he is growing, as well as moving around a lot. Isaiah is a miracle, and a testament that what man may call impossible, God calls possible.
So why am I sharing this now? At the end of January, there was a court ruling saying that according to human standards, Isaiah's life would be extended until February 19...that's tomorrow. Sometime tomorrow the court is going to rule if Isaiah will stay on the ventilator, or if he will be taken off of it. We MUST pray for this little boy, and his family. We MUST fight for Isaiah's life.
Isaiah is a living miracle, but may he live a long, healthy life for the Lord!
Here's a video I found on Youtube that really touched me...
